The details

What it is, in plain words

Reading glasses with a progressive autofocus lens: the top of the lens is for distance and the strength grows towards the bottom, so you read your phone by looking down and see the road or the television by looking up, without taking them off. Each lens works with its own eye, for reading strengths from +0.5 to +7 dioptres, with no prescription needed.

  • Reading strength+0.5 to +7 dioptres
  • Weight17 g
  • Guarantee24 months

The lenses are photochromic: clear indoors, they turn dark grey in the sun within seconds and clear again a couple of minutes after you come back inside, with UV400 protection. They also filter the blue light of screens, have an anti-reflective and scratch-resistant coating, and sit in a black TR90 frame with grey arms that bends and springs back, weighs 17 g and has soft nose pads and metal spring hinges. A soft microfibre pouch and an adjustable neck cord come in the box.

I read my phone and look across the street with the same pair. Outside they go dark on their own, so I stopped carrying sunglasses.

    The shop replied

Thank you, Halina. That is exactly what they are made for. - Widgettrove

  2. rosa mendez

bought them for my father, he just puts them on and reads the paper, nothing to adjust

    The shop replied

Our best wishes to your father, Rosa. - Widgettrove

  3. J. Nowicki

Light and comfortable, the cord is handy. One star less because I needed two days to get used to looking down to read.

    The shop replied

Thanks for the honest review. Most people get used to it in two or three days. - Widgettrove

  4. Aurelija

My left eye is weaker than the right and both read fine with these. The pouch also cleans the lenses.

  5. Pilar Ortega

I sat on them in the car by mistake. The frame bent and went straight back. Very happy.

    The shop replied

Good to hear they survived, Pilar! - Widgettrove
